How to make suv louder?

I have a 97 ford expedition with a 5.4 v8 in it and i want it to run a little louder it sounds good when you bend down close to the exhaust but that is it. should i cut the pipes off or should i just buy a flow master muffler or will i need the hole kit. I really don't wanna cut the pipes off but i will if i have to!
and when i mean loud i mean i want it to sound good too
 
I cut my old muffler off and put a new flowmaster in its place. Sounds great.
 
That expedition will sound a little weird with flomasters.Flowmasters will make it sound like a muscle car.What you can do is buy a louder muffler and get a mechanic to take the other stock muffler off and replace with a louder muffler.If thats not loud enough,take the catylac converter off and believe me...your vehicle will be loud.
