How to sign out of my aol email on my Sony Ericsson Xperia?

New phone, and decided to try out my email on the email app. So sign in and now I don't know how to sign out. I have pressed just about every button trying to figure it out, but nothing works. When I exit to the home screen, and go back, it it still logged in. This is NOT a gmail account, its my AOL email. If that makes a difference.
Also, someone told me their old phone had an email app and it just stayed signed in...not the same phone as me, but is that what most phones do? And if so, does it charge you for it, maybe like internet usage?
Please help, its bugging the hell out of me, thank you in advance!!

I don't know how I did this but I fixed this before. Go to the email app and when you get there click the bottom left button and if it appears delete account click that and select the email. if that doesn't work you can go to your user guide and click email and scroll Dow and it'll give you the directions.
