We got a puppy, baby female dachshund, 3 months old. Whenever you put her on the floor to play, she whines and jumps on you, and just doesn't like not being held!
How can I help her like the floor more? She just likes being held, but I can't hold her 24/7!

Thanks in advance!

Try playing with her on the floor with your hands around her so she still feels like she's in your arms, slowly begin to touch her less, then eventually she'll come around to playing. It may take a little bit of time, but she'll get used to it!

Well it sounds like you have spoiled your little friend. But don't fret. She and you will be fine. Just start playing with her in the floor. let her go everywhere with you. My mini Yorkie was always so frightful to be without me. Afraid that she would get stepped on, so she stayed at my hills. I wear long skirts, so she would hide under them when I was standing still. I became very good at scooting my feet as I walked as not to step on her. She eventually felt safe enough to sit at my feet while I was sitting, then after playing with her toys, she would stay and play as I walked away. You may have to put up with some whining until she feels comfortable.

Is the floor cold or slippery? She might be afraid. Try putting a rug or a blanket on the floor and see how she acts. Get down on the floor and sit with her.

Does she have a safe, comfortable place of her own like a crate or bed? She probably is scared, she's little and being left alone on a big floor is new to her. Make sure she is comfy, has toys and a blanket but don't give in! Reward her for not whining, but don't scold her for whining.
