Okay so my pony has kind of a lot of >minor< training problems. The one I'm working on at the minute is his cantar leads. He likes to throw the wrong one. I think part of the reason is me, as he's very sensitive to where your weight is, and I'm a little tall for him.. but mostly he is just used to doing whichever lead- he has ALWAYS been allowed to cantar on whichever lead he throws.. and consequently he is really well ballanced when he's on the wrong lead. And I just can't tell when he's on the wrong one!
He hates cantaring, and the minute you shift your weight in the saddle or fidget at all he will come back into trot- leaning over and having a look just won't work.. Do you have any advice, or tricks for being able to figure it out without moving at all? I can normally feel when other horses are on the wrong lead but he's so well ballanced and coordinated on the wrong one that it feels the same.
At the minute I just ask people to have a look and tell me if it's wrong but there's not always a bunch of people around to ask.
Thanks
