How to transfer files to a Portable Hard Drive (WD 160GB) without using WD Sync?

I have a WD 160 GB portable hard drive, but I don't know how to use the WD Sync program. I just want to transfer all the pictures I have on my digital camera without using the software, when I try to sync the camera's memory with the drive, it replaces the old pictures? can you help me please?

Plug both devices into a computer. Drag the desired files from the camera upload into the hard drive.
