how to upload phone pics to laptop?

how can i upload my cell phone pictures onto my laptop without using internet on my phone?? i have the micro sd card and lost the bigger one that it goes into..and when i plug in the usb cord it says it cant install the new software. plz help!
 
What i do, is send a pix message from my phone to my email address, then i can access my email on my laptop, and download the pic from the email.
