In my Freshman Honors English class we read the novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo and had to write an essay about its gothic elements and symbols. I just don't know how to write a hooking intro for such an essay! She gave us a format: the hook (2-3 sentences) and the thesis (very last sentence of the intro). Im not sure how to hook the reader and then transition into the essay, since the hook should, somehow relate to the essay. help? :]
