it was just fine because I knew the person from childhood.

A little awkward at start up, but everything settles in pretty quickly. You're going to notice that you both do things that you wouldn't in other circumstances, but in all likelihood, you'll end up being friends with little to no trouble.

Unless one of you is high maintenance. Which will end in disaster. (I kid, of course)
