I have recently been diagnosed with anemia. When I was younger, I used to be really active; however, that stopped as I got older. I would easily lose breath and be lightheaded, but I thought that was because I was out of shape.
In the past two years I have donated blood three times. The first two times went well, however, during the last, the nurse repeatedly checked my hemoglobin because it was low at first. Haha, I kind of pressured her into checking again 'cause I wanted to donate blood and skip class. Afterwards, I regretted it, because I had pretty bad headaches, was lightheaded, and was short of breath after going up stairs. Then, at a recent physical for dorming about two weeks ago, my doctor analyzed my blood and informed me that I am anemic.
I'm currently on iron pills, and I was wondering how long it typically takes to correct anemia. Hmm, that wording seems weird but I saw someone type about "correcting anemia" online and figured that's the way to say it.
Answers are well appreciated. :D
