How would a vampire mark a human as theirs?

For a story. Would anyone have any idea?

They might have a scent similar to their master's or something I guess..
 
Y'know how pirates have the black spot. Well you could do like a vampires spot or a cut across the arm or something. Canines mark territory by scent (pee) so you could do that.
 
like others said,
bite mark, their scent on the "human": their scent could be their venom/vampire blood through drinking/sharing by the human so other vampires can smell it? or just their scent caused by interaction?
