Sadly there is no way to get it back. Facebook is insisting on screwing that thing up more and more. Maybe one day they will sort it out but we're stuck with it for now.
This is very important. DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING THAT CLAIMS TO BRING IT BACK. This happens on every site every time a change is made, somebody will claim to have a script that you can download to change anything. Never ever believe them. Do not download anything and do not put your password into anything other than logging in. This method is used by hackers who aim it at people who obviously don't know much about technology, i.e. thinking that downloading something can change the way a massive company works.
If you do this then you could end up with a keylogger. You are unlikely to notice this happen. This is a virus that will sit in your computer and take notes of words that you type a lot. So words that are out of the ordinary or numbers are recorded. This means that someone somewhere in the world is getting hold of your passwords and card numbers. DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING the risk is definitely not worth it. Just stick with the rubbish chat until facebook finally fix it.
