connect. Is TV too old to work? Not sure if i need to activate the port, dont know how to check either. Graphics card is ATI Radeon Xpress 200. There is an s-video port between the ethernet jack and a vga port on the laptop. TV was purhased early 2004, its a Philips that supports regular RWY (two ports), svideo as well as composite cables for the Wii, but can only be 480p and wont register 480i as it makes the screen get messed up (or maybe its the other way around, which ever one is the digital version). So im thinking its either the TV, or the the signal itself, not leaving out that it might be Vista either. Have returned the cable to make sure it wasnt faulty.
And yes, i have tried to enable the second monitor through the Personalize settings on the Desktop, but it resets the laptops monitor to 800X600 and nothing shows up on the TVscreen, regardless of whether or not I enable the desktop. The activate monitor button is F4 on my laptop with the function button, it does nothing lol. I feel like this laptop is smart enough that if I plugged in an svideo cable that it would atoumatically register the TV as a second monitor without doing anything. Have spent almost a week on this project and I would really appreciate the help : )
