HTC sense keeps closing?

I have an HTC EVO Shift 4G running on Gingerbread 2.3, unrooted, stock rom, etc. i have done little to no modifications to this phone since i got it last august, and HT Sense keeps crashing everytime i hit the home button to exit an app. ITS REALLY ANNOYING. i have no task killers, no spare parts app, all i have is stock apps except handcent sms, and i have reset my phone at least 5 times this month.
PLEASE HELP!
