HTC Surround or Sony Ericsson Xperia X10?

I'm 18 years old, going into college. Looking for a phone to last a long time. I feel like the sony looks more...adult/business oriented. And I see a lot of students use HTC phones these days. What do you think is better? (I really like the 8mp camera on the sony though...)

Oh and I'm coming from the Blackberry Curve 8900 so I have no experience with Android
 
Get an iphone, if you used it for a day you wud never go back to any other phone, it completely blew my mind.

My old phone was a sony erricson.
