I'm going deer hunting with my Mossberg 590 12 gauge pump action this fall for the 1st time with rifled slugs. Somebody told me that rifled slugs are very hard on a smoothbore barrel and I should switch it out to a rifled barrel. Is that true? As far as techniques go, what works and what doesn't? Should I use a blind or does that really matter and what about scents? Right now for my gun I own 2-3/4 inch hollow point slugs. Will that work or should I go with 3 inch slugs for more takedown power? Any info someone can provide would be awesome. Thank you for your help.
