Im a christian, not a very devoted one, and I would like to be. Except every time I prayed, I have a sense that God is watching me and he might appear anytime and I got very scared of that and stopped. Something like that. I know its stupid, but I do feel this way. I fear Him! Help me help me help me. I don't know why am I afraid of, but I know Satan's behind all this, but please help me.

Every time you start to feel afraid then rebuke those feelings in the name of Jesus. Say just that, "In the name of Jesus I rebuke the evil spirits attacking my soul". It will stop, demons hate the name of Jesus.
Good Luck and God Bless

_____" fear Him that can cast both body and soul into hell "

There is no need for fear!

Jesus loves you!

Believe in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, and you are forgiven ALL SINS, no matter what those sins are! All sins past, present, and future!

Jesus died on the cross for our sins, as FULL PAYMENT for ALL our sins! And then Jesus rose from the dead!

Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! :D And the Trinity is true!

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to hell, is by believing in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what!

Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus to save you! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).

Please pray now: "Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die! :D

Before devotion and prayers
try to understand the basics of your religion
follow it step by step

That's what you get for believing stuff instead of questioning it. After all I don't live in fear.

In the Kalama Sutra, Buddha says.
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it..
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.

But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

The Buddha advised them to accept His Teaching only after having examined it for themselves and not out of reverence for him.

Whose prayers is God willing to hear?

Ps. 65:2; Acts 10:34,*35: “O Hearer of prayer, even to you people of all flesh will come.” “God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.” (One’s nationality, the color of one’s skin, or one’s economic circumstances have no bearing on the matter. But the motivations of one’s heart and one’s way of life do.)

Luke 11:2: “Whenever you pray, say, ‘Father, let your name be sanctified.’” (Are your prayers addressed to the Father, the one whose name the Bible says is Jehovah? Or, instead, do you address your prayers to “saints”?)

John 14:6,*14: “Jesus said to him: ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.’” (Do you pray in the name of Jesus Christ, recognizing that as a sinful human you need his intercession on your behalf?)

1*John 5:14: “This is the confidence that we have toward him, that, no matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us.” (To have such confidence, however, you must first know God’s will. Then be sure that your requests are in harmony with it.)

1*Pet. 3:12: “The eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous ones, and his ears are toward their supplication; but the face of Jehovah is against those doing bad things.” (Have you taken time to learn what Jehovah says through his Word as to what is righteous and what is bad?)

1*John 3:22: “Whatever we ask we receive from him, because we are observing his commandments and are doing the things that are pleasing in his eyes.” (Is it truly your desire to be pleasing to God, and are you earnestly endeavoring to obey those of his commandments that you already know?)

Isa. 55:6,*7: “Search for Jehovah, you people, while he may be found. Call to him while he proves to be near. Let the wicked man leave his way, and the harmful man his thoughts; and let him return to Jehovah, who will have mercy upon him, and to our God, for he will forgive in a large way.” (Mercifully, Jehovah invites even persons who have done bad things to call to him in prayer. But, to have God’s approval, they must sincerely repent of their wrong ways and thoughts and change their course.)

This is why I don't like Christianity. It instills feelings of fear and shame in its followers, and they just blame it on the bad guy.

As for your problem, if any given religion makes you feel that way, then you probably shouldn't practice it. Let's face it: Christianity isn't for everyone.

just keep doing it, and you'll be surprised to find out nothing happens. EVER.

Do not be afraid. God loves you very much- enough to die for all of your sins. You are clothed in the perfect righteousness of Christ, so when God looks at you all He sees is the life and death of His only-begotten Son. We can approach him as a father and talk to Him about anything.

I recommend reading the Bible for a while- I think in your case I recommend starting with the book of Hebrews.

With Jesus comes peace. If you aren't feeling the peace then you should learn to call out on His name. I do this daily. O Lord Jesus. I sense that He is near and I feel that peace. There is no fear in love. Perfect love casts out all fear. These are just two verses that come to mind. Read the Psalms and some of the prophecies in Isaiah concerning Him. Isaiah 53 and 61 are good places to start. Also start reading the gospels. I love John for it speaks of love so many times. God Bless. :)

no you fear satan and gods behind it satan is actually the good guy and god just wants you to believe hes evil

Allisa...

There's no one there to be scared of... it's all in your mind... you are scaring yourself needlessly...

I understand your fear of Christ, but you needn't worry. God made himself into his own son and traveled to Earth through a virgin birth to spread love. Jesus is pure love and so is God. You only need to worry about Jesus or God if you are comitting heinous acts like homosexual sex, idolatry, jealousy, lust, impure thoughts, sex before marriage, having an abortion, eating apples of knowledge, wearing mixed fiber clothes, laying in the same bed as a menstruating woman, eating shellfish, being arrogant, blaspheming, not respecting your parents, working on Sunday, refusing to hear God's servants, not going to church, sex for fun, not dressing modestly, being contemptuous, being boastful, being crafty, harming your slaves, etc.

If you avoid these like a good Christian, you've nothing to worry about. God bless!

it's not stupid, but it is irrational. most religions intentionally instill fear in their believers. in fact, all religions are self-serving, delusional, manipulative tools used to control the behavior of the gullible, the fearful and the ignorant. you want advice? stop praying. the power of prayer is a purely psychological phenomenon. it has nothing to do with any god or deity or spiritual being. devout, sincere praying rewires certain neuronal circuits in the brain that enhance the sense of ease and belonging in the world as we see it. if you don't get that sense, then stop praying. there's no one out there listening.

afraid of jesus? why? he was just a cool guy who died 2000 years ago. he can't hurt you. he's dead and he's not coming back to haunt you anymore than abraham lincoln is going to show up at your door. besides, even if he could come back, what makes you think you're so important that he would come to visit you out of the billions of other characters on this planet?

wanting to be a good christian.....what's that about? do you feel like you have to belong to some church or other spiritual group? just follow some common sense rules: don't lie, cheat, steal or kill. be kind to animals and children. be considerate of others and treat yourself with respect. you do not stand to be judged by any deity. the world of gods and devils is make believe. it's mythology for entertainment, for teaching lessons and for self-reflection. unfortunately it has been taken literally by the gullible, the fearful and the ignorant....the religious fanatics.... and become the root of most our worlds territorial, political and social conflicts.

next.....there is no satan. there is no god. so don't worry about it. just enjoy your stay here on earth. heaven and hell are what you make of yourself while you are here. the truth about life is this: you evolved in this eco-bio-system like everything else and you will die and decompose in this eco-bio-system like everything else. this is all there is. this is all you get. don't make it so complicated.

Why not, instead, ask Mary to intercede to her Son for you.

Mary is **VERY** good for bringing us all to her Divine Son.

well you should not be afraid of him...satan always does his best to make us go on his side...to make us feel miserable...when you have that feeling continue with the prayer and ask our lord to give you strength towards your prayer

There really is no reason to morbidly fear God. There is also no chance that God will appear literally before you because he never leaves heaven. Heaven is God's personal universe. Since God who created all the powerful and bright stars is more powerful and bright than all of them put together his literal presence would destroy the physical universe. So do not worry about God appearing.

The main reason God watches us as humans is not to condemn but to help us in our journey in life. Pray to God everyday knowing that he has your best interest in heart.
