...are on diesel? I am getting a new car (BMW 3-Series) new model and wanted to know how good they are on diesel?
There are a good few friends are telling me not to go for it because I should set my sights lower (Vauxhall,Ford). My mum included thinks I should go for something with smaller payments. I am male and nearly 25 in December. The last time I got a car was about 4 years ago and It was a very bad buy.

My sister just bought a 328i BMW. I heard it's a "fuel efficient" car. She says it's the best car she's ever had and it drives like heaven! I personally can't stand the way bmw's drive...I'm more of a benz person. BMW has a more sporty feel..i guess that's the best way to explain it. But the take-off and acceleration is MUCH smoother than a benz. And if you get it from the dealer you'll get a great warranty! Much better than any other company! I think my sister is paying around $400 for hers. I personally think you should go for it if you have the money!

My 320dSE reurns an average of 43mpg round town, pushing 50mpg on a run accorrding to the computer.
The best car you'll ever buy, Mondeo & Vectra drivers are just jealous - the BMW's in a different league.
Get one with a full BMW history, but have your servicing done at an independant garage you trust - dealers are an absolute ripoff!
Don't bother with a 330d - just too quick to be honest (204bhp & 0-60 in 7 seconds), the 320 is really fast as it is, but the 330 will also return over 40mpg.
