I am getting a new roof. Should I get turtle vents or ridge vents?

My house was built in 1962. I currently have two gable vents on the side of the house near the garage. My roof is approximately 2700 square feet. The contractor can put in 10 turtle vents or install ridge vents. The ridge vents will cost about 300 more. I don't have any soffit vents... just the two gable vents.
 
IF the gable vents are correctly sized, they are sufficient.

If you insist on roof vents, ridge vents, along the entire ridge, would be better.
