I am interested in becoming a Journalist/Travel Writer?

I'm in Year 11 and am interested in becoming a journalist or travel writer.
I am thinking of studying A-Levels English Language, Geography, English Literature and Philosophy. Are these good choices? Would you advise something else? I wanted to take 4 very traditional A-Levels because I want to get into Oxford on an English and Modern Languages course studying Italian as my modern language. Is this advisable and would you go down this route to becoming a journalist? I definitely want to keep English Language, but are my other three options good ideas? Help. Thanks, X

Those are all good things to round out our journalism degree. But you are missing one important item: Become familiar with the phrase, "You want fries with that?" in several different languages. You're gonna need it.
