We were doing a grappling drill (in jujitsu) where we were supposed to throw our opponent on the ground, and whoever ended up on their back had to get the other into their guard before the one who didn't end up on their back got into the mount. I threw him on the mat and got into the mount the first time. The second time he threw me down, but I managed to get him into my guard using one of the techniques he showed us earlier in the class. This really seemed to upset him and he said "D**n it" loud enough for the entire class to hear. The third time he threw me down, and I almost had him in my guard, but time ran out (I probably would have had him if I had 30 more seconds). He seemed angry when he dismissed us.
I'll find out later today if he is still mad at class, but if he is, what should I do? I mean, I did exactly what we were supposed to do and I didn't break any rules. Is it fair for him to be mad, or is he really just frustrated with himself for losing (I've only been doing it for a year, and he's a black belt)?
