He pays me child and spousal. My old car broke down (1986 beater).
I put a chunk of my own money down to make my payments lower.
Now he is angry saying that his support money goes to my new frivolous purchase.
He does not realize that he is no longer around to fix my car nor to help me with it. I need a reliable vehicle. The irony is that he bought an old VW van (from the 70's) then took our 9 year old son out on a road trip in it. The stupid vehicle broke down in the middle of nowhere, our son had to walk 6 miles in the dark at 11 at night and even had to poop on the side of the road and he has the nerve to tell me that I am being frivolous by buying a new car!!! It's not like I bought a porche!! My car is completely modest and reliable regardless that its new. I feel like I am justifying myself for no reason.
thanks for all the wicked answers so far. By the way for the sceptics. He makes and has made 3 or more times the money I made during our marriage. I stayed at home and raised the child so I have no formal training to get a better job....yet. Damn straight I will though!
