i can barely move my neck, what's wrong with me?

this morning i bent down and twisted my neck a little and immediately felt sharp pain in the whole left side of my neck descending into my shoulder. now i can barley move my neck without feeling a very sharp pain. what happened? will this go away? should i go to the doctor?
