after heaps of questions and heaps of answers.i haqve discovered that to put a petrol engine in a ski boat you need to maranize it.this means your exhaust manifolds have water running thru a jacket so you can put rubber tubing on to exhaust the gases.you need a fitting to put your carberetor straight up.(they dont like the lean on a ski boat)you need a bigger water pump to do the engine and the water jackets.you need your oil pan changed because of tighter engine mounting.you need a dog clutch to put in in gear.or you can start the boat with no clutch and off you go.the thing with inboards is the luxury of doing 100 miles an hour if thats what you like just get a bigger motor.i have had fishing boats and you can tilt the motor before putting on a sandbar.with a ski boat you cant
