i cant watch any movies i download from isohunt,com and i do have bittorrent?

i have the vlc media player and everytime i download a movies from isohunt or another site from bittorrent it tells me i need something else.... iv got 20 movies i downloaded and i cant watch any of them.. i have windows 7 what should i do
