I grew up watching reruns of "The Munsters." My favorite character was Lily, played by the beautiful and talented Yvonne de Carlo. I didn't have a stable home life growing up, and in a way Yvonne was like a weird, far-away, constant maternal figure for me.
When she died in 2007, a part of me was absolutely heartbroken. I knew that I had no REAL reason to grieve, as I didn't know her personally; but I still felt like I lost a very important figure in my life.
A few weeks after her death, I had a very odd dream. I was with Yvonne de Carlo in this beautiful, sunny, tropical place. There was a clear, cool river flowing around islands of lush green grass, riddled with flowers of every type and color. It was a beautiful vision, and I wish I could describe it to more effect. The only depressing part was that, while I was in the presence of Yvonne de Carlo, I was not there WITH her. Instead, I was chasing after her, swimming through the river, and trying to catch up with her. We were swimming fast, and underneath the water, almost like fish.
When I woke up, I was rife with a mixture of grief and contentment. Silly as it sounds, I feel like this dream has a deeper meanng. I was hoping someone could interpret this dream for me.
