I hate verizon!! Why do i want a freaking data package?

I do not use the internet from my cellphone, and i have to renew my contract, but most cool phones from verizon required a DATA PACKAGE. I have the LG Touch I love it, but now they only have the Cosmo and Intensity w/ keyboard which they look pretty crappy.. Please explain to me why is the data package? I think this is to use the internet in your cellphone? But I notice I get charge data usage in my phone bill? Or am thinking to change carrier what's better Boost or Cricket?
 
The data package is required since those phones are capable of accessing the 3G network- it gives you a certain limit of internet usage that you can do on your phone

Cricket is horrible! You get what you pay for. Lots of dropped calls. they spend so much money on infrastructure but not enough on towers for reception. Trust me, dont go there. I'm not sure about boost never tried it. I kept my att plan and my phone requires data package too but the phone is so cool. Most phones with any carriers that are the one you want requires a data plan. I know it sucks but only the cheap, ugly phone don't. I don't know....its up to you and what you can afford.
