I have a Beta fish and I think it almost died. I used one of the Jungle Tank Buddies tablets:
http://www.aquariumguys.com/parasiteclear.html
He has stopped laying on the bottom of the tank, he got up near the top again and actually ate some food. He's getting better I hope.
He is in a 10 gallon tank all by himself.
My questions:
1. I took out the carbon filters from the filter as the table box instructs. It says, remove carbon filter during use. So does that mean to put it right back in and turn on the filter as soon as the table stops fizzing? Or does "use" mean when all treatments (if I do more, see below) are completed?
When do I put them back in and turn the filter on?
3. The box says that I should use these tablets for anchor worms, which is what I think he had. It says "for anchor worms repeat treatment up to three times". When they say "up to" does that mean if the fish seems better to still do this?
3. It also says "and a 25% water change". It seems so unclear to me. When does that water change happen, right after the treatment or ALL treatments? Before the filter is put back in and the filter turned back on?
I'm sorry to sound like such an idiot, but I am somewhat new to dealing wish fish. My daughter got the fish for her college dorm and brought it home over the holiday semester break and we all felt it would be better off in a larger tank where it could be cared for better at home.
We actually love the little guy, he's usually a very social and perky fish and I would so sorry to lose him prematurely. I do think this Parasite Clear product seems to have worked a bit. So, fish experts, maybe you can offer me some guidance. I feel pretty alone.
Thanks if you can help.
Thanks for the one answer. Now I don't think he has had anchor worms and I have no clue what to do. He has gone from laying at the bottom of the tank and is "hanging out" near the back of the take at the surface, and I consider that a good thing at least.
He ate some food as well.
So, maybe the parasite clear stuff helped something else.
I still have no clue what to do next, though.
