sign of egg-laying to come? she is over a year old. she does not look sick at all. i've had some bird experience (had them all of my life) and i've never seen a female lay an egg. she is strong and healthy in appearance but she's been making this sound constantly for the week.
her poop looks normal. she is strong...she just keeps making the noise...and it seems to be nonstop. her feathers aren't poofed out as if she were sick...i've dealt with sick birds but this is weird.
is this a sign of egg-laying?
please and thank you!

It sounds as if your baby is in heat...she may not lay eggs, but she will have the urge to "mate". I have a cockatiel that will make the weird chirpy sounds and stick her tail feathers up in the air! hehe! She has been doing this lately, and since it's spring it is certainly that time of year.
