...record and will that affect him? I have a friend that wants to go on a romance tour. But he has a criminal record
and will that affect him finding a future oversea wife? What do foreign woman think about that?

It'll give him problems GOING to the foreign place, find the rules for any country he plans to go, otherwise dependant on his criminal background (Terrorism seems to be frowned upon) he should be good to go where the rules allow him, USA doesn't allow any criminal record holders to visit without like a four year process to get yourself pardoned to visit. (Not that USA is romantic or foreign if you speak english)
