I have a jeep grand Cherokee and the steering shakes violently when I hit a bump?

Sounds like the tie-rods are worn out. Greasing the joints will tighten them up for a while but seriously you need to change them before other parts of the suspension wear as a result of all the slack. Very unsafe. Of course check the bearings and ball-joints.

could be the panhard ber or the fith link that keep the axle frome goin side to side mine did that
