its an '04 clk320, and when I start up the car it has this loud ticking noise from the engine. I'm sure it's not the timing belt, and I suspect it has to do with the engine internals. when I go from 0-10 or 20 mph, the ticking noise becomes faster. but after driving around for a while, the ticking goes away. the ticking does come back though, when I leave the car parked with the engine on for about 20 seconds. any answers? i have about 94K miles on the car. I checked the oil as soon as I heard the noise, and the oil level is good. Do you think my car is still driveable? or is my engine going to grenade?
