I have a motorola Krzr k1 And I can not get it to connect to my pc.?

I just want to download from my phone to my pc the videos and pics I have on my phone. My usb cable is fine, do I need a program or what. When i hook it up to the pc it says new hardware found but still won't connect. HELP PLEASE!!!!!
