...generate DC Power.? I am building a wind generator and have no way to hook up the voltage regulator. Do I need one because it doesn't seem to be giving power with it as a stand alone? Please help...

a alternator will not produce any power unless you energize the armatuer and field coils you will need a battery to get it going then it will produce powerand you can dissconnect the battery most modern altenator have a voltage regulator built into them if you want to make power a would suggest a old style generator off this say a 64 chevy
