i have a pack of cigarettes possibly,from 1989, are they still good?lol?

they are harley davidson custom ciggarettes, i know nothing about them. But my friend said i should open them and try them...but i was like idk.. risky
would they be stale?. Can i get sick from smoking a stale cigarette? should i not do it, and just save the pack in case its valuable?
