I have a samsung SPH-A920 and I have bluetooth?

My bluetooth is enabled but for some reason my friends cant seem to find my device. I cant receive anything they send me and i cant send them back anything in return. I want to locate other bluetoth devices around me but i cant seem to figure this out either. Does anyone that have a phone like mine know how 2 work it?
 
If you have enabled your device, it should give you the option to search for the device, if it has found it, and you still can't receive anything, go to your local service provider.
