i have an old rogers sim card?

i used to be with rogers, a few years ago. and i have a sim card from them. however, i transferred to telus and i got a new sim card, but i still have the same phone number that i had with rogers.
my friend wants to buy the sim card from rogers from me so she can unlock her phone, but will i lose my phone number or something? i dont understand how this works.
please help!

I think you should ask about this to your network provider. If you are using this number then another person cannot not use it even though its a different network.
