i have metrocast cable internet and have xbox live but my connection is inconsistent

at best, ideas? ive called tech support 4x over the past two years they say my internets fine but my internet alays disconnects at least 20 mins after starting to play

i have the highest speed available

itll work fine one day then it will be horrible for a while after being great
thanks for any help
