I have sony ericsson 850i mobie.My latest contact list has disappeared

an replaced by my very old list.? It happened when Sony Ericsson PC suite became Sony Ericsson pc companion.I have also lost several text messages I had saved to keep.How Can I retrieve my new contact list and the text messages saved.I can't find them in phone memore or sim memory.
Help!
