...libertarians than republicans? On another question just posted, the person asked which party do you trust the most.....of course the usual 'democrats" and then all of the rest of us, who say independent, or libertarian.................it made me laugh because i am sure most liberals on here think they are arguing with republicans on here all the time, when truth be told, we are all becoming independents or libertarian with fiscal conservative bases... lol

It's amazing how many libertarians there are all of the sudden now that a Democrat is in office. When your home boy was on a spending frenzy most of you "libertarians" were quiet as church mice. The ones who were making noise are the real libertarians. The johnny come lately libertarians are posers. They will abandon that platform as soon as another republican manages to win the White House.

just like you think you're arguing with a 'liberal' when you're actually arguing with a moderate.

Independent Conservatives are rapidly becoming a force to be reckoned with.

they're currently coming up with a method of generalizing and demonizing libertarians into one group, similar to the way they did Republicans. As soon as they do that, they'll be able to make some people afraid to speak up, and they'll start calling us Libertarians then.

haha... I get it, just like some people think they are arguing with a person and their actually arguing with an avatar

That's dangerous thinking! If your not careful you might be called a racist for having a different opinion.

I don't know, but I've noticed too many people here either (1) refering to a party as if everyone who sides with that party thinks identically or (2) assumes everyone else is completely stupid and their way is the only way.

It is extremely rare, if it happens at all, that anything in politics is cut and dry. There is almost always pros and cons to everything. That does not preclude anyone from choosing a side based on their values, so moderates can't get off so easily here, but it also means there may be room for debate.

When Democrats argue with Libertarians, it's usually about the merits of a bong vs. a joint.

I trust Libertarians and Independents the most, followed by Republicans next. Too many Democrat leaders have lied to me in my life, which is why I left them long ago. The Democrat politicians in my state are running around telling each other to start buying up pharmaseutical and health care company stocks before they go up when national health care is enacted. So you know the Democrats "good looking out" is all based on financial gain. One side had oil and the other side has pills. The oil side never made the use of oil/gas martial law though.

They don't know who they are arguing with. If you do not agree you are a greedy, racist white person. There new excuse is GWB. GWB is there best friend. Every thing they do they justify with W did it too.

It goes for the other side as well. They are arguing with who they believe to be anti American terrorist sympathizers.

There is no in between with these groups. They are insane.

I am an Independent and I am far from a Libertarian . It is true I am fiscally conservative but I suspect it is not in the way you mean.

By far the largest welfare recipient and frauds in this country are business and the Republicans which represent them and not their constituents.

I don't like spending $1 Trillion on an illegal war when there are people with no health coverage

It is ironic that Republicans ONLY get fiscally conservative when out of office. When in office they steal from the poor to give to the rich, and until 2011 are still doing it. The last 3 Republican presidents ran massive deficits, all leaving recessions.

I currently hear everyone criticizing Obama for the forecast that the deficit, with health-care and a public option, will be $10 Trillion over 10 years. That is with the 2 wars left him and the worst recession, which we are coming out of, since the great depression in the 1920's!

I guess Republicans forget that Bush ran up $12 Trillion in 8 years and certainly did nothing for the poor or those who need health insurance!

If someone was smart enough to tell a Republican from a Libertarian they wouldn't be a Democrat.

most people don't realize there are other parties than the Big 2 . and they try to pigeon hole people, if they agree with a party on one issue they assume that walk in lock step with every other issue.

Zealots tend to be very shallow 2 dimensional people. they assume every one else is the same way.

No, it has been very clear that many people on here are libertarians or independent, hence the use of the word conservative, which can apply to all.
