I left my itouch in the rain! help!?

I left my Itouch out in the rain (stupid, I know) for about 3 days... I've had it in a bag of rice for about 4 1/2 days now. I plugged it into the charger, and I came on with the thing saying its dead so I left it to charge. I hit the home button, the screen flashed black, and now it wont turn on period. Is it gone? Or would leaving it in rice long help?
 
I'm sorry... it's gone.
But it's in a better place now.
We should be happy.
