I need a free windows media video to divx converter with no watermarks. ?

I just downloaded a torrent and it only opens in windows media player. The only thing is that when you open it in windows media player, it only plays the sound. I can play it in divx player and it will have video but I can't convert it into mp4 format because the original file is in window media. It only has the sound.

If you can play it in the DivX player, but not WMP, it most likely is an avi encoded in DivX or XviD.
you can check with the free GSpot. After install, right-click the video and select open with GSpot and it will tell how the video is encoded:
