I am not looking for a complicated dish - no pies or lasagne or spagetti bolognaise...all I want to know is how to make a delicious but quick meal with mince meat....

You can make Meat Cutlet
1 cup mine meat(squeez out liquid),
1 tbsp chopped onion or shallots,
2 tbsp cornflour,
1 small tsp salt or go by your taste,
2 tsp black/white pepper,
half of egg white from an egg,
half tsp cinamon powder(optional),
half tsp powdered rosemerry(optional),
1 tbsp copped green chilly (change the portion as per the spice level you want)

Mix all the above well, if you think the mix is not holding together wen made into ball (the ball shouldnt be very stiff, it should be a soft) then add some more corn-flour. Heat oil in a deep frying dish to the highest. Hold the mix into an open fist to make into a ball and drop into the oil gradually so that it doesnt splash hot oil around. Soon after dropping the ball simmer down the flame.You can chose to fry 3 balls at a time. Cook for 7-10 min on medium flame. Now remove them on a plate with tissue papper to absorb excess oil. Once you are done.serve with tomatoe ketchup , salsa sauce or thousand island salad sauce or all of them.

Happy eating
:-)

I've always loved this dish. You don't have to follow it exactly, esp with the type of cheese you use. It's fast, simple, and cheap since you probably have most of everything in your fridge already.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:

* 1 pound ground beef
* 1 onion, chopped
* 2-1/2 cups water
* 1/2 cup Ground Beef Mix
* 1 cup elbow macaroni
* 3/4 cup Cheese Sauce Mix
* 1/2 cup shredded Colby cheese

Preparation:
In large skillet, brown and drain ground beef with the onions. Add water, Ground Beef Mix, macaroni, and Cheese Sauce Mix, stir well, cover pan and reduce heat to low.

Simmer mixture until macaroni is tender and sauce has thickened, about 20-25 minutes. Top with Colby cheese, remove from heat, cover, and let stand until cheese is melted. 4-5 servings

i was going to suggest spag bol, but you say you don't want that, so..how about brown off the mince, add a finely chopped onion,, garlic, peeled and sliced carrots, and any other veg you like, cook slowly until all soft, then add beef stock or a cube and some water, and some cornflour disolved in cold water. Add seasoning, dried herbs. Arrange peeled and sliced potatoes, which have been par boiled for just a few minutes, on top of the mince and veg mixture and pop in oven for potatoes to brown off.
It's healthy and tasty, quick, hope you like it.
