Ok so this rap is about my people, the Assyrians (Mesopotamians)
Hope it's good and hope you like it..
Also, don't forget to give feedback on what i can fix or improve on.
Peace
It's upsetting and depressing to see that the end of our dynasty has come to this,
Where once known as mesopotamian kings, yeh those are the days that I miss,
When our ancestors accomplished things so great,
in which the feeling can only be described by a loving mother's tender kiss.
But unlike all other things which come to an end,
Still over 4000 years our strong love for one another has never been so evident,
So you can be sure that our existence on this earth will forever last,
Just like an unforgetable grudge coming back to haunt you from the past.
Home is not a place where we wanna be,
just come with me and you might see,
Persecuted, murdered and martyred for following an opposed belief,
I know, this sh*t is hard to swallow or to even conceive.
Now you know why we were forced to migrate out of our nation,
yeh you guessed it right, we wanted to pursue our happiness and liberation.
Distinct from any other nationality,
There is no other way to put it, that's the true reality.
And even though prosperity and recognition amongst my people is limited,
I hope and pray to god that we will once again become uplifted and spirited.
But things aren't as bad as they sound,
We all still share the same passion,
from food; biryani, kooba, and dolma straight to our clothing fashion.
If you're reading or hearing this,
I hope I picked words which appeal to your inter-est,
To either influence, if not educate,
In the place in which i meditate.
The Assyrian Orthodox church is where I go to praise,
the exact same teachings that Jesus used to help raise the dead awake,
So you better make or break,
Because we were taught that the only way to heaven was to follow the man who was thought to levitate.
