I need help as i m looking to get a faux hawk hair style?

i have think 3-4 inch hair at the moment and i ve just let it grow and become messy. i m thinking of having a faux hawk (like beckhams) but starting on the top right of my head then working down across to the bottom left of my head (near my neck) and was wondering would hair dressers/stylists know what i was on about as i dont have any pics and havent found any either????

i was also wondering if there is anyone on here in the uk thats a stylist and could email me and help me if at all possible???
