i need help with my lg cookie fresh, fb probs! D:?

so i can get into my fb and everything.. but im getting notifications and its just not informing me... i can refresh the page and everything and there still is no tab saying 'new notifications' or 'friend requests' or anything like that...
is this just my phone or is everyones like this? is there any way i can fix it?
i rely on my phone a lot for fb and am pretty addicted.. this is annoying me! lol
