I need help with relationships!?

I am in a relationship with this guy we have been together for a long time,around the end of last year he began to act weird, when I call he barely answers and if he does he always says I cant talk I have to go and before I can say anything he hangs the phone up on me, sometimes when he actually stays on the phone to talk he always has an exscuse why he doesnt call once he said his phone got lost (he used that one twice) then he said his sister also dropped his phone in some water, he has made alot of exscuses and I try to believe him because I dont want to accuse him of doing things that he may not have done,I also got a message from a girl telling me that they had been going out but she thinks that he has other girlfriends, when I asked him he said he didnt know her and that she was just random like that, I give him space so I cant be smoothering him, I dont know whats going on can someone PLEASE help me, he says he loves me he just has been busy, I dont know where to go
