I need help with wireless internet, airport and timecapsule.?

I have my mac computer set as wireless with the built-in airport. But i can't use the internet from my itouch when the computer is off. So is there anyway to make the computer's wireless internet stay on, without using a router? Are there any settings i have to change????

What is time capsule?
 
your itouch is using Bluetooth. If you want it to work, you're gonna have to get an Airport Extreme. Sorry.
