I just recently started learning how to cook. So far I am capable of making simple dishes like Eggs & Bacon, Pasta, but thats about it. I want to learn more. I want to make tasty dishes. Today I tried to experiment but it came out a disaster. I feel like such a letdown
Also, whenever I try to follow recipes, I can never seem to do them because I don't always have the ingredients, and sometimes I come across words that I don't understand like "Broil, etc". It confuses me..

Go buy a box of large cooking bags. These will ease cleanup and the pamphlet inside the box will tell you how to cook most meats; except fish. The "Betty Crocker's Picture Cook Book" is good beginners cook book and can be purchased from the source listed below.

get a cook book for beginners.
They have plenty of stuff you can make for a beginner.
Try and follow a recipe as much as you can: prepare a list of the ingredients you need and buy them a day before making the meal (easier that way: you can inspect if you are missing anything and can go buy them).
Also, read the recipe well before going into the kitchen.
If you come across any word you find difficult to understand, then google is your friend.
But the most important tip: never give up.
The fist time will always be a disaster, but you can still make a meal that tastes great from this.

Some cookbooks have definitions in them or look on internet. Betty Crocker cookbook's are a good source to learn by or go to their web site. Always check your ingredients to see if you have them on hand before you cook or go grocery shopping. Mistakes are how we learn. Also ask people for advice.

Cooking is a skill you gain from experience. I've made hundreds of dishes before and i can tell you that there are still days when i still have disasters. However, you are meant to learn from these disasters so that the next time, you can take into account what you did wrong the last time and how you can improve. Don't let disasters stop you from experimenting. Cooks on Masterchef have disasters too and they are meant to be the best amateur cooks in the nation.

Try looking up these technical words on the internet. There are many sites that can teach you new skills. Hope this helps! XD Don't give up!
