I spilled orange crush soda on my itouch and it was soaked and i don't know how long it was like that. It won't turn on and when I plugged it into my computer, nothing popped up and i checked i tunes and nothing was there also. Please help!
Did your ipod overheat when it was connected? This is vital information to ensure that it isn't broken permanently. If it didn't, pry it apart (Note: Look up a video on the proper way to do this) and rube each part that has a sticky residue on it clean with a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab. Then, while the ipod is still apart, put it into a bowl of rice. (Note: I prefer cotton, because it is much more absorbent.) Then reassemble it and pray for the best.
Try plugging it first into the outlet and then the other part in the itouch. And yes you want to wear gloves because electrocution was not what I had in mind. Or you know what, just get rid of it. Electronics don't like water.
Once my iTouch got wet (it was the first generation) and it wouldn't turn on either. Just let it dry for at least 24 hours and then try to see if it starts to charge when you plug it into the pc (that worked for me), if not, then go to the Apple Store and ask someone if they can fix it
