...baggage tag. The bags are lost? I recently travelled international within Europe. At check-in I wanted to check-in two bags and I did. The lady even put a priority tag on the bags, but has not entered the baggage details into the system and she did not give us a baggage tag. At the destination airport our bags never arrived and the airline customer service filed a baggage tracking claim. It has been 8 days since my travel and everytime I try to call the baggage department, they say they are still looking for the bags, but that they have no evidence that we have checked-in the bags. It was clearly a mistake of the attendant at check-in and my carelessness in blindly trusting that the tags will be stuck on the passport or boarding pass. I have lost all hope that I am going to get my bags at all. Do you think I can raise a claim for lost baggage considering I do not have a baggage reference tag number? I have travelled with this airline many times before. How about raising the claim with my travel insurance company?
